Since 2014, Ballarat Wellness Centre has been improving people’s health and wellbeing. 


Owned by professional sportsman Ray Borner, a famous elite-level basketball player, our centre is a family-run business. Ray’s stellar sporting career spanning over 20 years, sparked his interest in health and wellbeing and now he’d like you to experience all that Ballarat Wellness Centre has to offer.


Our range of highly effective healing services includes salt room therapy, floatation tanks, sauna, massage and more. Our friendly, well-trained and qualified staff are here to help you get the wellness therapy that's right for you. We use innovative techniques and products-all of which are natural, non-invasive and supportive of your wellbeing.

Had a relaxing zen afternoon at the Wellness Centre with massage, float, sauna and salt room wish my sister in law and daughters whilst on our week holiday to the area! We all experienced a relaxing and therapeutic time. Would recommend all the services as they each provide specific benefits but definitely wish I could come here for regular massages as we all had one of the best massages we have ever had. The centre is clean and unpretentious and appropriate instruction is provided for the sauna, float tank and salt rooms. If you have not relaxed in a while prepare your mind to turn off and just get in touch with yourself! Your health and mind deserve it! 🧘🧘‍♀️🧘

Anyone looking to loosen those muscles MUST go in and see Ray! He was absolutely fabulous, Professional and in no way invasive, He made sure I felt completely comfortable the entire time… No more back, neck and shoulder pain… I’m a cleaner and constantly in pain from all the scrubbing I do especially in my shoulders and neck, I constantly live with a ningerlig headache which in turn causes migraines… As soon as Ray was finished the headache was gone! The tightness in my shoulders had gone.. I had movement in my back which I haven’t had for quite sometime due to a slipped disc in my lower back! If you don’t have time MAKE TIME! I promise you won’t be disappointed I feel so rejuvenated and ready to take on tomorrows day of work filled with more scrubbing! Thanks so much Ray! I feel amazing ☺️🙂

I called Ray and explained that I had a chest infection and was interested in the salt rooms. We booked an appointment and off I went. The room is very relaxing and clean. I walked out with a 60% better voice and what felt like 20% better breathing. I'm hooked and will be back tomorrow!

Yesterday I experienced my first ever Floatation therapy!! Oh my lord!! Amazing! Unexplainable I couldn’t even feel my body I was completely weightless... after suffering stress, anxiety and no sleep. Happy to say last night I actually slept! Highly recommend anyone going to experience this. Definitely be going back next week!

OMG, on a cold Ballarat day, I was sore and cold and thought.... I need to be warm and I need to have a massage. Ray was absolutely brilliant. The Vibrosaun was amazing, up to 85 degrees, fully controllable, and loosened up my tight, sore muscles ready for one of the best massages of my life (and I’ve had a few). It also got the warmth into my cold bones that were aching as the weather turned.

I have a rare form of arthritis causing me much pain, I’m fussy, a like things to be spotlessly clean, and I need someone who won’t make me too sore - that understands the human body - and gives an excellent remedial massage. Ticked all boxes.

I’m very grateful, and while I’m from Melbourne, spoilt for choice for excellent beauty, wellness and massage near home, I’ll now be coming here every time I can when visiting family.

This morning I went to the Ballarat Salt Rooms and Wellness Center to see Ray and to have a Reiki session. I had been putting up with not feeling like myself, an unbalanced, very emotional, highly stressed out 61/2 month pregnant grizzly mumma. I have never had a Reiki done before but straight away after my session I noticed reduced stress immediately with feeling a great level of peace and calm. Something I haven’t felt in a long time!! Thank you so much Ray, I could not recommend you enough for your amazing work. I will be back!! And I’ll be spreading the word.

I would highly recommend the Ballarat Salt Rooms to everyone. I’ve been doing the salt room therapy for a week because I’ve been very sick (chest infection, pneumonia, pleurisy, lung collapse) and I’ve definitely noticed that since I’ve been coming here, my healing is speeding up. It’s such a relaxing atmosphere and if you buy the month package it’s such a great deal. Ray is fantastic and very empathetic. I can’t recommend The Ballarat Salt Rooms highly enough!!

My six month old baby boy is covered from head to toe in extremely bad eczema. We’ve been prescribed multiple different steroid creams to which nothing worked. I was recommended by a family member to try the Ballarat salt rooms and I am not disappointed. After only two treatments I am amazed by the results. The redness has disappeared from the eczema and it has started to scab and heal. I cannot wait to see what his skin looks like at the end of the week! The staff are amazing and extremely understanding and helpful. Would be happy enough to recommend to any family members or friends!

I booked one of the Combo services I had a 55min sauna session followed by a 60min float...there are no words to describe how relaxed I felt when I walked out... Amazing results For having an extremely sick baby at 10 weeks old almost 11 weeks, and to see her turn around was amazing; I had absolutely zero help from the ballarat medical services side of things on trying to heal her and I found the salt rooms helped her immensely. She had an extremely bad cough, congestion and wasn’t taking to a breast as her nose was quite badly clogged up. I went to the salt rooms for a week straight and to see the improvement was just fantastic. I now have a happy healthy baby that’s not screaming at me and takes to a whole bottle and takes to a breast and is back to her normal self; thank goodness for the salt rooms And ray with his outstanding team, I’m definitely coming back and getting the word around, because I finally got help and that’s all you need sometimes, so thank you

Ray and Serena provided and excellent service and we will definitely be back! My partner and I got a couples massage (myself more of a relaxation style, my partner got remedial), and both walked out feeling great! Ray was super attentive and constantly checked in with me throughout the session to ensure I was comfortable and getting the benefits. My partner found Serena to be a very skilled remedial masseuse, targeting muscles he didn’t know he had! Thanks to you both for you kindness and service :) we will be back!

Greatly appreciate the advice and support from Ray at Ballarat salt rooms. The shop stock of kunzea products and magnesium products are excellent prices in comparison to the same items I had been ordering online. Since being on chemotherapy my health has experienced negative complications , I recently tried the vibrosaun and was overwhelmed that for the first time in 18months I could feel nerve sensations in my lower legs and feet. I’m looking forward to regular sessions and continual improvements.
